Sixteen year old superstar Justin Bieber was recently photographed with a small bird tattoo on his hip. The Canadian singer is said to have gotten the tattoo at Son of a Gun Tattoo Parlor located in Toronto. This tattoo is said to be a tradition in the Bieber family. The bird itself is no larger than a coin and is drawn as though it is in flight. The tattoo surfaced via photographs when Beiber was playing on a beach in Sydney. It was during this time that he was completely unaware of the impact he was going to have when the tiny tattoo became noticeable. This tattoo was done in private and occurred on Bieber’s 16th birthday, a tradition in the family. Since the Justin Bieber bird tattoo was seen, it has been the source of many conversations with speculations as to the validity of the tattoo photographs and questions as to whether or not the tattoo is in fact real.

The meaning of the bird also is the source of a question. Some people claim that the tattoo is a representation of Twitter. Others more realistically claim that this tattoo which is identical to Beiber’s cousin represents the freedom to be yourself. Even others claim it is a symbol of manhood and is seen as a rite of passage. The Beiber family has declined to comment on the tattoo leaving the speculation open for debate.
